1. Supreme Court to Decide LK Advani’s Fate Today

The Supreme Court will today decide if LK Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti and other leaders should be convicted of criminal conspiracy for the demolition of Babri Masjid. The CBI had sought the apex court’s directive, confirming that it has evidence that Advani and his colleagues were part of the plan to bring down the mosque in 1992.

2. 8 States to Shut Down Petrol Pumps on Sundays

Following PM Modi’s call to conserve oil, petrol pumps in eight states will be shut on Sundays in 8 states, said the Consortium of India Petroleum Dealers. As per the new decision, about 20,000 outlets in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, Maharastra, and Haryana will be shut for 24 hours on Sundays starting from May 14.

Amitabh Bachchan’s mega project “Aankhen 2” has reportedly been shelved as the film’s budget went out of hand. “The film has all the stars on board and had even locked some exotic locations to shoot, which apparently threw the film’s budget out of the window. The makers were planning to release the film during Diwali but from the looks of it, it won’t take off anytime soon. Chances are it won’t take off at all,” the source revealed.

State Bank of India has announced that it’ll start imposing fine of Rs. 100 on payments below Rs 2,000 made through cheques. SBI CEO, Vijay Jasuja said that the move was made on the back of ‘large number of cheques in drop box’. However, SBI customers who clear the cheques over the counter will not be charged.
